| so I'm in Galveston, TX right now... last minute, I know. Last night dad & I decided we'd come out here to check on his mom... she is in the hospital (ICU) and was not doing well. We drove in this morning and are staying with my dad's aunt tonight. We're coming home tomorrow, so it's not too long of a trip. Thankfully she is doing okay. They gave her a temporary pacemaker & she will get a permanent one sometime this week. I am hoping she will be able to go home for Christmas, but no one really knows. She is still in critical condition because her heartbeat is so irregular. She is also having a hard time talking, but she is mentally okay. It's just hard to form words right now. I hope everything turns out okay with her... I'm unsure of her salvation, so yall pray. Tomorrow night John & I are exchanging gifts, & I'm excited... I got a great gift this year! He leaves Thursday for like a week (bummer), then he's coming to get me and take me up there to see his family for New Year's (whoo hoo)... then he gets his wisdom teeth out! Yuck. Ima help take care of him, though! Anyways, that's about it... I'm going to bed now! | | |
| wow... it looks like xanga got a new format while I've been away! It looks cool-- I can add video and audio??? oh boy! Anyway, I'm at home, feeling quite sick today. I had to call Chick-Fil-A and tell them I wasn't going to be there today. I hate doing that for two reasons: 1) It really does leave them hanging, I've been there when other people call to say they aren't going to show up & it's awful! 2) I really do need the hours... I told them they could call me around lunch time if it got crazy and I'd come in for awhile, but I reeeeeally don't feel up to it. I'm hoping that if I stay home and rest and drink lots of fluids today then I'll be good to go for school and work during the rest of the week. Is there over-the-counter medicine for a scratchy-dry-swollen throat, side splitting cough, achy muscles, stuffed up nose, and head congestion? I'll bet Robitussin has a medicine with my picture on it. Maybe if I go to Walgreens it'll jump out of the shelf at me, too. Okay, I'm going to drink some OJ. | | |
| Well, it has been quite awhile since I've written... Sorry guys-- if any of you still read this! Things have just been really busy lately and I haven't had much time to write. I started school in August, and I love it! I'm taking 15 hours this semester, and I love all my classes (with the possible exception of general math...) The seminary is a great place, & I'm slowly but surely making friends! I'm also working (a lot) at Chick Fil A. I usually work about 30-35 hours/week. I work on monday, wednesday, friday, & saturdays (the days I don't have school) I'm also teaching a one year olds sunday school class with John. That is such a fun age, and we are really enjoying it! Anyways, not a whole lot else to say... Have a Great Day! | | |
| No, I didn't fall off the face of the planet... I've just been pretty busy. Working a good 25-30 hours a week and then going in to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Work is going good, I love chicken, so I guess I won't get tired of Chick-Fil-A. They opened a new store over in Madisonville, and some of us got sent over to help them out for their grand opening. I'm going back on Saturday to help out the night crew.
I love school. Commuting gets old really fast, but my classes are great and I really love everyone on campus! I couldn't ask for more in a school-- I'm so happy!
Tomorrow I have a few errands to run since I don't have classes (they are having a special anniversary of the hurricane chapel service and ministry day on campus, so all the classes got canceled) :
1. go to NOPD and get a background check so I can have my $1000 state educational grant
2. turn in the results of my TB test (don't worry, it's negative!)
3. go to the bank and make a deposit!
| Well, my xanga is just over two years old... and I'm thinking about taking a break for awhile! Honestly, I just don't have a whole lot of time on my hands to write.
School started today, and between school and work, I'm not sure if I'll have a lot of extra time at all! I'm taking 15 hours and working 30 hours every week, which is quite a bit, I think.
I love all my classes and professors, though! The seminary is a great place!
